Community feedback sought on safety improvements on Burley Griffin Way at Binalong

Transport for NSW is calling for feedback on proposed safety improvements on Burley Griffin Way intersection with Fitzroy Street at Binalong.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said Transport was planning on carrying out a number of improvements at the intersection to reduce the likelihood of crashes.

“The proposed plan includes relocating powerlines, as well as installing additional streetlighting, 250-metres of safety barriers, and a new median to prevent motorists from cutting the corner,” the spokesperson said.

“We are also proposing to remove direct access to Richmond Street from Stephens Street and limiting access to Fitzroy Street for heavy vehicles over 15 tonnes.

“The community is invited to a drop-in session in February where they can meet the project team and find out more about the proposed designs.

“This is your chance to learn about why we think these changes are important to improve safety, and share your thoughts and feedback directly with the team.”

The session will be held at the Binalong Community Playground, on Thursday 1 February, corner of Stephens and Twynham streets between 2pm and 5pm.
