Burley Griffin Way is a two-lane road that provides an important link for the northern and western Riverina connecting Griffith to Yass and Sydney via the Hume Highway. Transport for NSW is carrying out a number of upgrades along this important network to provide a safer and stronger road.

December 2023 - Binalong safety improvements open to feedback
Transport for NSW is proposing to carry out safety improvements at the Burley Griffin Way intersection with Fitzroy Street at Binalong.
Proposed safety measures include widening the road, installing safety barriers, building a traffic island and, restricting access to trucks over 15 tonnes.
These safety improvements aim to reduce the likelihood and severity of crashes at this intersection.
We’re reaching out to the community for their feedback on the proposed design.

Feedback closes Sunday 11 February 2024.
The feedback received will be used to assist in developing the final design and how we carry out the work.

Background
Burley Griffin Way is a two-lane road that provides an important link for the northern and western Riverina connecting Griffith to Yass and Sydney via the Hume Highway.
The highway is 285 kilometres long and extends from the Hume Highway south of Bowning to Irrigation Way at Yoogali, east of Griffith.
Transport for NSW is proposing safety improvements at the intersection of Burley Griffin way, locally known as Stephens Street, and Fitzroy Street.
