Investigation work on Princes Highway at Yallah and Oak Flats
4 October 2018
Parliamentary Secretary for the Illawarra Gareth Ward MP has today announced that local motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions starting from next week on the Princes Highway at Yallah and Oak Flats for survey and geotechnical investigations.
Mr Ward said that this work will include digging and drilling sections of the northbound and southbound lanes to better understand the existing utilities, ground conditions and road surface.
“The information from these investigations will be used to finalise the detailed design of the Albion Park Rail bypass,” he said.
“For the safety of workers and motorists, investigations will be carried out at night from 8pm to 4.30am for a maximum of 10 nights between Monday 8th October and Friday 19th October, weather permitting.
“Lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place.
“Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control and allow up to five minutes of extra travel time.
“I thank all local motorists for their patience during this time,” Mr Ward concluded.
