Taxi and rideshare added to Transport for NSW Trip Planners

Transport for NSW now offers taxi and rideshare options to customers planning trips.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said by partnering with third party operators, customers have more mobility options at their fingertips and can view taxi and rideshare providers along with public transport options.

“We are really excited to offer customers more choice on how to get from A to B, allowing them to create a trip planning experience that is more personal, flexible and streamlined across Transports’ official digital channels including web, app and voice assistant,” a TfNSW spokesperson said.

Customers will be able to see some taxi and rideshare providers that operate in the area they are trip planning, including Cars on Demand, Ingogo and Ola, as well as an estimated price guide and journey duration with an option to book.

Customers can compare an end-to-end drive option with public transport, walking and cycling and make more informed decisions on the fastest and most cost effective mode of transport to get them to their destination.

“The brand new L2 Sydney Light Rail route from Circular Quay to Randwick, via George Street in the CBD is also an exciting addition to the trip planner for customers to explore.”

“Over 16 million trips a month are planned across all our digital channels,” a TfNSW spokesperson said.

“With the help of real-time data, customers know exactly when to leave home or work to get to where they are going, and connect with different modes of transport.”

These exciting changes are available on the transportnsw.info website,  the Opal Travel app, the Transport Bot on Facebook Messenger and the Transport NSW Action on Google Assistant.
