B-doubles
A B-double is a combination of a prime mover towing two semi-trailers all connected by B-couplings.
A route that is approved for a B–double can be used by a B–double with the same or shorter overall length.
For example:
- a 19 metre B–double can operate on 23 metre and 25 metre approved routes
- a 23 metre B–double can operate on a 25 metre approved route.
