Manly Vale commuter car park Breathing Wall

A revolutionary breathing green wall incorporating around 9,000 plants, has been built into the three-storey commuter car park at Manly Vale.

Using technology developed by Junglefy - one of Australia’s leading living infrastructure specialists - the Breathing Wall is a living, rotating, modular green wall system, scientifically proven to accelerate the removal of air pollutants by actively and filtering and cleansing the air.

A two-year study carried out by the Plants and Environmental Quality Research Group at the University of Technology Sydney is studying how the Breathing Wall removes toxic pollutants including volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide and particulate matter out of the air.

UTS is working with Transport for NSW to monitor the Breathing Wall output over the next two years to provide further results in this environment.

This project is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to provide more sustainable design solutions in line with the broader long term plan for NSW.

Manly Vale is one of six car commuter parks delivering about 900 spaces across the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore as part of the B-Line program.
