September 2025 – Investigation work and access to private property
We are progressing the planning of Bradfield Precinct Priority Roads (BPPR) project.
To help develop concept designs for Eastern Ring Road and Badgerys Creek Road (south), we will carry out investigation works. We will use data collected from the investigations for the design of potential road upgrades. Some of these activities will require access to private properties.
We are currently in the process of contacting property owners to complete these investigations.
Project Information
Background
The investment pipeline for the Western Sydney International Airport (WSIA) Precincts will create the need to move a significant volume of people and goods that cannot be accommodated for on the existing road network. In its current state, the WSIA Precincts are mostly greenfield, supported by limited road infrastructure.
With the WSIA and Bradfield City Centre becoming operational, there will be considerable growth in vehicle volumes over the next 20 years. Infrastructure provision, particularly of new or upgraded roads, will be required to enable the rapid take-up in employment land. We are planning for the future Eastern Ring Road and Badgerys Creek Road (south). Eastern Ring Road and Badgerys Creek Road (south) will connect to create a long term north south corridor between Elizabeth Drive, The Northern Road and Bringelly Road.
Transport for NSW shared early upgrade proposals in October 2023 and completed a Strategic Business Case in December 2023.
Next steps
The first stage is planning and concept design and when completed, the designs will be exhibited for public comment. Once approved, planning and construction will then be staged and sequenced to ensure the road network meets growth and travel demand.
