Bus changes across the North West
Project overview
As part of Transport’s plan to deliver a better bus network, we are looking for ways to improve bus journeys across North West Sydney.
This includes additional services on key routes, timetable changes, and route changes to help provide a better-connected public transport experience.

Latest news
Upcoming bus changes including school bus improvements for students
From Monday 19 May 2025, there will be timetable changes and route changes to provide improved travel options for students on some bus routes, including dedicated school services.
We encourage passengers and school communities to plan their journeys using the TfNSW Trip Planner which will be updated before Monday 19 May. To ensure dedicated school services appear as a travel option for students, click refine and select the school bus option.
Changes include:
- Bus route 677 will have some minor timetable and route adjustments to the morning service. It will now operate via Bourke Street bus stop passengers can alight here for Richmond Agricultural Center at Western Sydney University.
- Bus route 747 and 748 will have select trips in the mornings and afternoons to provide students of Melonba High School and Melonba Public School traveling to and from Melonba and Elara Estate with more travel options.

Changes to bus stops on Miller Street, North Sydney
From Sunday 30 March 2025, three bus stops along Miller Street, North Sydney will no longer operate.
The changes are to enable better connections with Sydney Metro, bus services will operate from an existing bus stop close by.
Bus stops no longer operating in North Sydney:
- Miller Street at McLaren Street (TSN 206047), passengers can catch their regular services from the bus stop at Victoria Cross Station, Miller Street, Stand B.
- Miller Street after McLaren Street (TSN 206019), passengers can catch their regular services from the bus stop at Victoria Cross Station, Miller Street Stand A.
- Civic Park, Miller St (TSN 206082), students can catch their regular services from the bus stop at Victoria Cross Station, Miller Street, Stand B.

March 2025 bus changes
On Monday 3 March 2025, there will be timetable changes designed to provide passengers in the Sydney, North West and Hills District with better connections and a more reliable bus network.
The changes will also make it easier for commuters to access stations along the new Metro line to provide alternatives to driving and offer a smoother combined commute.
What’s changing?
Bus services in the Sydney, North West and the Hills District are being adjusted to better align to the community’s public transport needs. This will improve connections with Sydney Metro and the newly opened Parramatta Light Rail.
Key changes include:
- new service route 590 Hornsby to Pennant Hills
- changes to routes 288, 513, 523, 524, 544
- timetable changes on 252, 261, 265, 292, 500X, 506, 546, N90, N91, 605, 610X, 611, 612X, 616X, 652X
- route and timetable change 288, 500N, 513, 523, 524, 533, 544, 600, 620X, 660
- more services on routes 605, 610X, 611
- route 712 Westmead Children’s Hospital discontinued.

Changes to schools
January 2025 bus changes
On 19 January 2025, Transport introduced bus timetable changes designed to provide the community with better connections and more reliability in Sydney’s North West bus network.
Some areas will see more services and extended operating hours, with increased frequency for some routes, especially at peak times. Areas including:
- Tallawong
- Rouse Hill
- Riverstone
- Schofields
- Box Hill
- Bella Vista
- North Kellyville.
The changes will also make it easier for commuters to access stations along the new Metro line to provide reliable alternatives to driving and offer a smoother combined commute.
