Project overview
Transport for NSW is carrying out survey works at three locations in Gilgandra, along the Newell, Oxley, and Castlereagh Highways. Works will include excavation and backfill of test pits along the roadside to determine ground conditions for future intersection upgrades
We will be working at three locations, including the Castlereagh Highway and Federation Street intersection, Newell Highway and Hargraves Lane intersection, and Oxley Highway and Hargraves Lane intersection.
Works will occur between 7am and 5pm, starting on Tuesday 16 August. Work is expected to be complete by 5pmWednesday 17 August, weather permitting.
We will let you know in advance if there is a need to do any work outside these times.
How will the work affect you?
The work will involve the use of construction machinery which generates some noise. Every effort will be made to minimise noise by turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.
Traffic changes
There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zones are safe.
Reduced lane widths and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place at all three intersections during work hours and may affect travel times. Motorists should allow up to 5 minutes extra travel time during this work.
Stop/slow traffic control will be in place as required.
