Project overview

Changed traffic conditions on the Mitchell Highway north of Bourke.

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions now in place on the Mitchell Highway between 14-16 kilometres north of Bourke for rehabilitation work.

Bourke Shire Council is carrying out the work on behalf of Transport for NSW, including rehabilitating and widening the road pavement.

For the safety of workers and motorists, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place during work hours and 60 km/h after work hours.

Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and between 7am and 1pm on Saturdays. Work is expected to be completed by July 1, weather permitting.

Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of traffic control and signs, including reduced speed limits.

Transport for NSW thanks road users for their patience during this time.
