Project overview

Transport for NSW is delivering improvements across the state to create vibrant, productive, liveable and sustainable places that support community health, safety and wellbeing.

To promote future employment growth, support the local population now and into the future, and to improve connections across Greater Western Sydney, road works are underway to connect Sydney’s motorway network and support the delivery of the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport.

The projects for Claremont Meadows include:

  • Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport
  • M4 Motorway
  • Intersection and driveway upgrade at Gipps Street

Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport

Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport is the new metro railway line which will service Greater Western Sydney and the new Western Sydney International (Nancy- Bird Walton) Airport.

M4 Motorway

The NSW Government is investing $600 million to build the M4 Smart Motorway project which will introduce intelligent technology to the M4 Motorway between Pitt Street, Parramatta and Mulgoa Road, Penrith.

Intersection and driveway upgrade at Gipps Street 

Transport for NSW  has completed upgrades to the Gipps Street intersection at Sunflower Drive North and the existing east leg driveway to access the future Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport services facility at Claremont Meadows. 

The upgraded intersection and newly constructed driveway is now complete. Our work included:

• a new and upgraded pavement and driveway to access the services facility
• new signage and line marking, and upgrades to the existing traffic control signal
• relocation of utilities and stormwater drainage improvements
• new street landscaping and pedestrian footpath
• new street lighting
