Dapto Station Upgrade
Planning is currently under way to improve accessibility at Dapto Station.
The upgrade at Dapto Station is being delivered as part of the Transport Access Program, a NSW Government initiative to provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure across the state. As part of the program, the Dapto Station Upgrade would aim to provide a station precinct that is accessible to those with a disability, limited mobility, parents/carers with prams and customers with luggage.
The project is expected to be completed in 2022*.
Planning is under way for an accessibility upgrade at Dapto Station. As part of the planning process, we are seeking community feedback on access at the station and our proposed upgrades.
Feedback is open until midnight Sunday 31 October 2021.
What are we proposing?
We have assessed Dapto Station against the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport Act 2002 (DSAPT) and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA), the legislation which sets the standards for accessibility in Australia. To meet these standards and improve safety and accessibility at the station, our proposed upgrades include:
- updating the level crossing pedestrian zone
- upgrading ramps
- creating a formal kiss and ride zone
- upgrading bathrooms to include an ambulant toilet in both male and female bathrooms
- upgrades to existing footpaths to the station entrance
- regrading Platform 2 in front of the station building to achieve a compliant level
- widening Platform 1 up to the Boarding Assistance Zone.
- upgrading existing lighting to increase security.
We want to know how you use Dapto Station and any challenges you face in accessing the station during your transport journey. Complete the Have your say feedback form to tell us about your current experience with access at the station and let us know what you think about our proposed upgrades.
Alternatively you can provide feedback by:
- emailing email@example.com
- calling 1800 684 490
- writing to Transport Access Program – Dapto, Director Rail Development and Delivery, Transport for NSW, PO Box K659, Haymarket NSW 1240.
Your feedback will help Transport for NSW understand what is important to customers and the community.
What happens next?
Your feedback will assist the project team as they develop designs for the Dapto Station upgrade. We expect that the works will be complete and open to the public in late 2022.*
