Nov 2022 - Continuing work on Dawson River Bridge, Cundletown

Transport for NSW and construction partner RMP Abrasive Blasting are continuing the final stage of work as part of the painting and maintenance project. Work on Dawson River Bridge is expected to be completed in early 2023, weather permitting.

We will be continuing work to complete steel repairs, prepare the steel surface for painting and install and wrap scaffolding as we work progressively along the bridge.

Dawson River Bridge will be reduced to a single lane during work hours are between 9am and 3pm from Monday to Saturday.

From Monday 21 November some steel repair work will be carried out at night between 7pm and 5am from Monday to Thursday. We expect night work to be complete in one week, weather permitting.

There will be no work during the holiday period from Friday 23 December 2022 to Sunday 8 January 2023.

Background

Stages of work

The painting and maintenance work will be carried out in stages.

Stage one:

Stage one work was carried out in May 2021 and has been completed.

Stage two:

Stage two work was carried out in late May 2021 and was completed in two months.

Stage three:

The final stage of work started on Monday 31 January 2022 and involves painting the bridge. This work continues on from the initial stages of the project and is expected to be completed in late 2022, weather permitting. Work will be carried out during the day between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Saturday.

We will continue to keep the community updated as this stage of the project progresses.

Next steps
