Newell Highway patching for flood repairs - Notifications - West Region Projects

Reviewed

Project overview

The NSW Government has prioritised essential maintenance work across the West Region encompassing all major corridors to perform essential flood recovery and maintenance work.

Transport for NSW will carry out the work, which includes heavy patching work along the Newell Highway from Gilgandra to the Queensland Border.

Work will commence on the Narrabri to Moree Section from 26 April 2022 and will take approximately three months to complete weather permitting.

We will be working between 7am and 5pm on weekdays, and between 7am and 5pm on Saturdays

We will let you know in advance if we need to do any work outside these times.

Project information

The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by arranging the work in stages at different locations, completing noisier activities earlier in the night and turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.

There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe.

Single lane closures and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours and may affect travel times. Motorists should allow up to ten minutes extra travel time during this work.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
