Night work on the Mitchell Highway - Notifications - West Region Projects

Reviewed

Project overview

The NSW Government is funding this work between Orange and Bathurst to provide a stronger, longer lasting and safer road.

Transport for NSW will carry out the work, which includes asphalting. We have included a map to show the location of the project.

We will be working between 6pm and 7am from Sunday to Thursday and expect to complete the work in two months, weather permitting. We will let you know in advance if we need to do any work outside these
times.

Transport will also be carrying out work to widen the highway for safety improvements and culvert replacement.

The Rocks overtaking lane will be closed while work is carried out. This work is expected to take two months and work hours will be 7am to 6pm, weather permitting.

How will the work affect you?

The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by arranging the work in stages at different locations, completing noisier activities earlier in the night and turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.

Traffic changes

There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe.

Lane closures and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours and may affect travel times.

Motorists should allow up to 5 minutes extra travel time during this work.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.

Thank you for your patience during this important work.
