Project information

The North Sydney Wharf Upgrade has been delivered as part of the NSW Government's Transport Access Program, a major, progressive upgrade of ferry wharves across Sydney Harbour. The program aims to improve Sydney's ferry services for customers, by delivering accessible, safe, and comfortable public transport infrastructure

The new North Sydney Wharf

The new wharf provides North Sydney with facilities that all members of the community can access. Key benefits of the project include:

  • a new accessible path leading to a gangway and covered floating pontoon
  • customer seating
  • weather protection
  • a new accessible parking space
  • kiss and ride zone
  • bicycle hoops.

Other wharf upgrades in the area

Wharf interchanges across Sydney are being upgraded to improve the transport experience for customers and the community. To find out more about wharf upgrades in your area visit the Wharf upgrade program.

In designing the new wharves, a number of areas need to be considered such as accessibility, the environment, customer safety and amenity, future demand and ferry operations. These are outlined in the Design Considerations factsheet (PDF, 335Kb).
