Project overview

The NSW Government has prioritised essential maintenance work across the West Region encompassing all major corridors to perform essential flood recovery and maintenance work.

Transport for NSW has engaged contractors Stabilised Pavements of Australia to carry out the heavy patching work along the Barrier Highway between Cockburn on the South Australian Border to Dolo Hill between Broken Hill and Wilcannia.

Work will commence on Monday 6th June at Cockburn progressing east along the alignment to Dolo Hill, and will take approximately two months to complete weather permitting.

We will be working between 7am and 5pm on weekdays, and between 7am and 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays to ensure works are completed expediently.

How will the work affect you?

The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by arranging the work in stages at different locations, completing noisier activities earlier in the day and turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.

Traffic changes

There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe.

Single lane closures and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours and may affect travel times. Motorists should allow up to ten minutes extra travel time during this work.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
