Project overview

The NSW Government is carrying out road improvement work on the Great Western Highway at the Durham Street and Rankin Street intersection in Bathurst.

Changes to the Durham Street and Rankin Street intersections in Bathurst map

Transport for NSW will carry out road improvement work, which includes enlarging the raised concrete medians to provide a safer intersection the Great Western Highway. Right hand turns will no longer be possible from Rankin Street onto Durham Street, from either direction. The map above shows the new traffic conditions once the work is complete.

How will the work affect you?

The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.

There will be temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe for workers.

Traffic changes

Reduced speed limits, single lane closures, no right turn from Durham Street to Rankin Street and traffic control will be in place during construction. Please allow an additional five minutes travel time.

Please keep to speed limits, follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs and plan your journey to account for the additional travel time. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
