Safety upgrades on Keppel Street and the Great Wes - Notifications - West Region Projects

Reviewed

Project overview

The NSW Government is funding a $150,000 traffic light safety upgrade at the intersection of the Great Western Highway (Stewart Street) and Keppel Street.

Transport for NSW will carry out the work, which includes upgrading traffic light signal displays with post extensions for a more visible location over the road, as well as providing longer crossing times for pedestrians. We have included a map to show the location of the project.

We will be working between 8pm and 4am from Monday to Friday as well as day activities from 7am to 6pm. Work is expected to be completed in two weeks, weather permitting. We will let you know in advance if we need to do any work outside these times.

How will the work affect you?

The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. Access will be maintained for residents and emergency service vehicles.

Traffic changes

There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe.

Single lane closures, intermittent stopping and a reduced speed limit will be in place during work hours and may affect travel times. Motorists are advised to allow an extra 5 minutes travel time.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
