Changed traffic conditions on the Newell Highway between Narrabri and Moree for maintenance work.

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Newell Highway between Narrabri and Moree from today until the 8th October 2021 for road maintenance in the form of heavy patching and minor road rehabilitation works.
These works have been prioritised in response to a number of recent adverse weather events that have impacted the condition of the highway.
Work will be carried out along a nine kilometre section of road, starting 34 kilometres north of Narrabri.
Work hours will be between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 5pm on Saturdays and is expected to take up to 9 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Traffic control including single lane closures, intermittent stopping and reduced speed limits will be in place for the safety of motorists and workers.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
