Highway improvement work on the Newell Highway - Notifications - West Region Projects
Project overview
The NSW Government is funding essential maintenance on the Newell Highway through Narrabri to improve safety and provide a smoother road surface.

Transport for NSW will be completing the work, which includes providing a new road surface on the Newell Highway at Narrabri. The map above shows the location of the work.
How will the work affect you?
The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by arranging the work in stages at different locations along the project length, and turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.
Should your property or business access be affected we will contact you individually and traffic control will be on site to assist.
Traffic changes
There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe.
Lane closures and a 40 km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours which may affect travel times.
Motorists should allow up to 10 minutes extra travel time during the work.
