Safety upgrades on Keppel Street and the GWH - Notifications - West Region Projects

Reviewed

Project overview

The NSW Government is funding a $150,000 safety upgrade at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Keppel Street to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians.

Transport for NSW will carry out the work, which includes upgrading the traffic lights with signal post extensions to position them in a more visible location over the road, as well as providing additional red arrow protection for pedestrians. This work aims to improve safety at this intersection in Bathurst. We have included a map to show the location of the project.

We will commence this work after the school holiday period in early 2022, and expect it to take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting. We will let you know in advance when we have dates and times confirmed for this work.

How will the work affect you?

The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by arranging the work in stages at different locations and turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.

Traffic changes

There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe.

Lane closures and a reduced speed limit will be in place during work hours and may affect travel times. We will advise you when the date and time of this work is confirmed, in early 2022.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
