Project overview

The NSW Government is funding $600,000 for safety improvements at the intersections of Iodide Street with Argent and Crystal Streets in Broken Hill.

Intersection safety improvements ar Argent, Iodide and Crystal Streets map

Transport for NSW is widening the intersections at Iodide Street and Crystal Street and Iodide Street and Argent Street to enable safer access for all vehicles.

Work includes widening kerbs, installing heavy duty flexible pavement and new line marking to accommodate the approved 36.5 metre heavy vehicle turning movements at both intersections.

A map of the design and the work being carried out is included above.

How will the work affect you?

Access to business and residences will be maintained during the closure and traffic control will be in place.

The work involves the use of machinery which generates some noise. We will make every effort to minimise noise by turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use.

Traffic changes

Changed traffic conditions including temporary traffic control, detours, lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time, drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Please keep to speed limits and follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
