Project overview

Construction activities to improve accessibility at Bellambi Station are complete.

The upgrade at Bellambi Station was delivered as part of a NSW Government initiative to provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure across the state. As part of the program, the Bellambi Station Upgrade will provide a station precinct that is accessible to those with a disability, limited mobility, parents/carers with prams and customers with luggage.

The project was completed in September 2023.*

Key benefits

  • updating the existing level crossing pedestrian zone
  • constructing a new station entry ramp
  • creating two new accessible parking spaces
  • creating a formal kiss and ride zone
  • installing a new bike shelter and hoops
  • constructing a new station building further along the platform which will include accessible amenities
  • demolishing the old platform building to achieve compliant platform widths and access paths
  • upgrading existing lighting to increase security
  • regrading footpaths
  • constructing a new switchback ramp on Bellambi Lane
  • upgrading the level crossing pedestrian zone.
