To promote future employment growth, support the local population now and into the future, and to improve connections across Greater Western Sydney, St Marys Station and precinct is being renewed.

Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport
Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport is the new metro railway line which will service Greater Western Sydney and the new Western Sydney International (Nancy- Bird Walton) Airport. A city-shaping project, the 23-kilometre new railway will connect Bradfield city centre in the south with St Marys in the north – where customers can connect to the existing Sydney Trains suburban T1 Western Line.

Completed projects
Sydney Metro enabling works
Enabling works to prepare for construction of the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport include:
- investigations to determine existing infrastructure that will assist in planning for construction
- relocation of high and low voltage wires
- replaced and realigned signals and communications cable
- relocation of the station lift shaft and stairs adjacent to Queen Street, and removal of in-ground foundations to enable tunnelling work
- construction of access tracks within the rail corridor from Glossop Street to east of the St Marys Station platform
Construction is now completed on the Sydney Metro enabling works for St Marys.

St Marys new bus interchange
To support construction of the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport, the Station Street bus interchange has been relocated to Veness Place.
Key benefits:
- 35 new car parking spaces available.
- relocation of existing taxi rank to Queen Street
- relocation of kiss and ride to Nariel Street.
- a new pedestrian crossing on Queen Street towards Nariel Street
- conversion of 1A Station Street to a construction vehicle holding centre.
Construction is now completed on the St Marys new bus interchange.
Commuter Car Park extension
Transport for NSW has delivered over 250 additional parking spaces for commuters at St Marys Station. Key benefits:
- two new levels providing over 250 additional parking spaces
- a new lift and extension of the existing lift and stairs
- additional accessible parking spaces
- additional motorcycle bays
- wayfinding signage
- CCTV, LED lighting with motion detection and daylight sensors for improved safety and security
- provision for future electric vehicle charging spaces
- provision for Transport Park&Ride infrastructure (Opal operated boom gates)
Construction is now completed on the multi-storey car park at St Marys Station.
Transport Park&Ride boom gates are in operation at St Marys Commuter Car Park. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport journey by tapping on and tapping off using an accepted Opal card, then use the same card when you exit the car park. If using a contactless credit card or debit card on public transport, you will need to set up and link your vehicle and card details with a Transport Connect Account.
Glossop Street road widening
Transport for NSW has delivered upgrades to Glossop Street, between Phillip Street and Hobart Street.
Key benefits:
- widened northbound carriageway to allow for a third lane
- a dedicated slip lane for vehicles to access the rail corridor
- upgraded road median and footpaths,
- new signage and line marking
- relocation of utilities and improved stormwater drainage
- new street landscaping and a pedestrian footpath.
Phillip Street & Lethbridge Street intersection upgrade
Transport for NSW has improved road safety and the movement of construction vehicles at the intersection of Phillip Street and Lethbridge Street.
Key benefits:
- new pedestrian crossings on Lethbridge Street, north of the intersection and on Phillip Street, west of the intersection
- new pedestrian safety fences and upgraded footpaths
- new lighting and road signage
- removal of concrete islands approaching the intersection
- new road markings
Construction is now completed on the Phillip Street and Lethbridge Street intersection upgrade.
