Opening Event

On Wednesday 10 November, Transport for NSW hosted an opening event for the West Ryde Commuter Car Park. Supported by our construction partners ADCO, we welcomed the Member for Ryde, Victor Dominello as the first commuter to drive through the upgraded car park and use the new Park&Ride system.

This upgrade has delivered 101 additional spaces to the existing commuter parking available, taking the spaces from 55 to 156 spaces which not only provides better public transport options for commuters but also reduce congestion on our roads.

Commuters will also benefit from four accessible parking spaces and a 12-space bike rack plus new CCTV, lighting, wayfinding signage and rail corridor fencing for improved safety.

Project history

Between September and October 2020, the community were invited to provide feedback on the proposed concept design for the new commuter car park at West Ryde Station.

Thank you to everyone who made a submission. Your feedback helps us to understand what is important to customers and the community and will be considered during the detailed design phase of the project.

A Consultation Summary Report, summarising key themes of feedback and answering commonly asked questions is available to view.

The commuter car park upgrade was completed in November 2021.
