Beverly Hills Commuter Car Park

Reviewed

Project overview

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is delivering a new multi-storey commuter car park with approximately 200 parking spaces at Beverly Hills.

The project is part of the NSW Government’s Commuter Car Park Program, providing you with more convenient access to public transport at key interchanges and helping to ease congestion on our roads.

This project is a joint initiative of the Australian and NSW Governments.

The commuter car park is located at Edgbaston Road adjacent to the railway corridor, approximately 70 metres south west of Beverly Hills Station.

The new multi-storey car park at this location will provide safe, accessible and convenient commuter parking close to the station, and help meet the growing demand for commuter parking in the area.

Key benefits

  • a multi-storey commuter car park with approximately 200 commuter parking spaces
  • lift and stairwell access to each level
  • CCTV, lighting and wayfinding signage for safety and security
  • provision for future electric vehicle charging points
  • TfNSW Park&Ride infrastructure (Opal card-operated boom gates)
  • upgrade of existing stairs linking the existing car park to King Georges Road
  • 4 additional accessible parking spaces located on Tooronga Terrace
  • landscaping.

TfNSW has been working closely with Georges River Council during the planning and the delivery phases of the project.

Changes to parking

The existing Edgbaston Road car park will be closed to commuters during construction of the new commuter car park.

We have developed a map to help the local community find suitable timed, untimed and disability parking, which provides access to the town centre and railway station.

Community use of the car park

TfNSW is committed to finding a solution that ensures the commuter car park is available for use by both commuters and non-commuters to support the local community. We are currently investigating options for the car park to be made available for non-commuters during evenings and weekends (off-peak commuter parking hours). The investigation will draw from results of ongoing trials at West Ryde, Ashfield and Kogarah Park&Ride commuter car parks. The outcomes of these trials will inform the proposal for off-peak commuter parking hours and the detailed design for the Beverly Hills CCP.

Transport Park&Ride is designed to free-up more spaces at commuter car parks for those who travel on public transport. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip by tapping on and tapping off using an accepted Opal card or credit/debit/Opal card linked to a Transport Connect account.
