Project overview

The NSW Government has committed to installing two noise barriers to address concerns raised by the community in Berry.

Work commenced in July 2021 and is expected to be completed by the end of October 2021, weather permitting.

Nov 2021 - End of construction of noise barriers

Works were completed on 16 November 2021.

Work included clearing vegetation, drilling holes and installing steel posts and noise barrier panels.

Project information

Background

The NSW Government has committed to installing noise barriers along two sections of the Princes Highway, near Windsor Drive and Huntingdale Park Road in Berry.

While the noise mitigation measures already in place at this location are performing as intended and current noise levels meet the requirements of the NSW Environment Protection Authority and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Transport for NSW is doing more to address the concerns of the community.

Building the noise barriers will include vegetation removal, piling and then the installation of posts and panels.

  • What will the noise barriers look like?

The lower part of the noise barrier will be an opaque Hebel panel and the upper part of the panel will be transparent acrylic.
