The NSW Government is upgrading Mamre Road between the M4 Motorway, St Clair and Erskine Park Road, Erskine Park. The project will support current and future traffic demands, reduce congestion, improve safety and travel times.

From Monday 14 July, we will start work to upgrade the intersection at Mandalong Close, for a left in left out traffic arrangement from Mamre Road.

Project information

Background

Mamre Road is an important transport corridor in Western Sydney and is a key connector to the Western Sydney Employment Area and Western Sydney Airport Precinct. The current upgrade of Mamre Road between M4 Motorway St Clair and Erskine Park Road will meet future needs of road users and cater for growth in the area.

What is happening now 

Construction is currently underway and is expected to finish in 2028.

The key benefits to the community include:

  • improving road capacity to cater for growth in the area
  • managing congestion and delays along Mamre Road during peak periods
  • improving travel times
  • improving road safety for all users
  • improving active transport.

Key features 

Key features for the Mamre Road upgrade between the M4 Motorway and Erskine Park Road include: 

  • widening the road to four lanes with a central median, allowing for six lanes in future if required
  • improving six intersections on Mamre Road
  • building a new shared path along the eastern side of Mamre Road
  • reinstating bus stops near Banks Drive with the capacity for additional bus infrastructure in the future
  • improving access for Mamre House and Erskine Park Rural Fire Service
  • upgrading drainage to better withstand flooding events
  • installing permanent noise walls along the eastern side of Mamre Road at St Clair.
