Jul 2022 - Submissions report and detailed design progressing
In 2021, we displayed the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) to assess the potential environmental impacts of the proposal. Feedback from the community and stakeholders has been considered and the detailed design is now progressing.
Transport for NSW thanks everyone who provided feedback to the consultation. The main issues raised in the submissions related to the proposal’s design and construction with a focus on the noise wall design, construction timing and proposed changes to intersections along Mamre Road. Other issues included traffic, noise and visual impacts, noise and vibration mitigation measures and concerns around landscaping. For more information, view the community update (PDF, 8.16Mb).
Transport has prepared a detailed Submissions Report (PDF, 12.8Mb) which summarises comments or questions received during the public display and our responses.
Transport for NSW will continue to provide the community with updates throughout the project.

Project information
Background
Mamre Road is an important transport corridor in the Western Parkland City and is a key connector to the Western Sydney Employment Area and Western Sydney Aerotropolis.
A strategic design and preferred option for upgrading Mamre Road between the M4 Motorway, St Clair, and Kerrs Road, Kemps Creek was displayed for community comment in 2017. The selection process used to determine the preferred option is available to view or download from the November 2017 Mamre Road upgrade options report (PDF, 2.92Mb). Feedback received was responded to in the April 2019 consultation report (PDF, 3.04Mb).
The project has been fast tracked as part of the NSW Governments Jobs and Infrastructure Acceleration Fund. Geotechnical investigations, utility surveys and ground surveys for the project started in early 2020.
Further upgrades of Mamre Road would be delivered subject to funding.
Review of Environmental Factors
We have developed a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for the proposed Mamre Road upgrade between the M4 Motorway and Erskine Park Road. The REF outlines the preferred features of the concept design, assesses a range of environmental impacts expected during construction and when the upgraded road is operating, and how we plan to minimise these impacts on our community.
The REF can be viewed and downloaded from the project documents below or via an interactive digital platform.
Key features
Key features for the upgrade between the M4 Motorway and Erskine Park Road
- Four lane divided road with a wide central median, allowing for six lanes in future if required.
- Changes to six intersections on Mamre Road.
- A new shared path along the eastern side of Mamre Road
- Reinstating bus stops near Banks Drive with the capacity for additional bus infrastructure in the future.
- Changes to property access for Mamre House and Erskine Park Rural Fire Service
- Installing permanent noise walls along the eastern side of Mamre Road at St Clair.
Next steps
We will now complete the detailed design and any further environmental considerations so that construction tenders can be invited for the Mamre Road upgrade.
Transport will continue to consult with the community and stakeholders prior to and during the construction phase.
