Regional Safety Summits

Summits overview

The Regional Safety Summits were recently held across NSW from 30 May - 5 July 2023. The summits brought together over 600 people from our regional NSW councils and Transport for NSW, to learn about how we can improve work site safety across the board.

The summit features an array of guest speakers providing a wide range of information on safety leadership, culture, management systems and more.

We thank all who attended the summits, for making it such a valuable and educational experience. Our Council partners are so important as we work together to achieve the best possible safety outcomes.

The events were targeted at our Local Council Operational Leaders, specifically:

  • Project Engineers
  • Depot Managers/Supervisors
  • WHS Practitioners

Topics included:

  • Due diligence requirements
  • Contractor safety management
  • WHS legal update
  • Safety Management Systems

When and Where?

The regional single day events were held between 30 May - 5 July 2023. See below for the full schedule.

Why?

The summits were designed to create common safety objectives between local government and Transport for NSW. The goal for these summits was to build a solid base on which we can build a united and enduring safety culture.
