Heritage interpretation mural
The Heritage Interpretation mural at the May Lane entrance to St Peters Station was created by local artist, Kim Siew. The artwork celebrates the station’s unique history and evolving environment, highlighting both its architectural features and the community connections it fosters.
Inspired by historical drawings and imagery, the mural uses geometric shapes, patterns, and figures to depict key architectural elements such as the footbridge, stairs, platform verandah and benches—each representing points of connection. It also captures the everyday moments we often see at the station, like people reading, shopping, or walking their dogs, with heritage details subtly integrated into the figures’ clothing and forms.
The mural is a celebration of how public transport, like St Peters Station, connects people and strengthens community.
