Reviewed

Project overview

The program is designed to simplify and modernise the rail network. Passengers will be able to access more services on a simpler and more reliable network through the delivery of better infrastructure, new trains and extra services.

Project scope

  • building a rail crossover to connect two parallel tracks. This will allow trains to cross from one track to another
  • Completing around 100 metres of track work, including new overhead wire structures for the rail crossover
  • installing new signalling and modifying overhead wiring, drainage and utilities for the trains.

Customer benefits

  • a 30 per cent increase in peak services on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. This includes extra services from Cronulla, Waterfall and Hurstville
  • space for 6,000 more customers on the T4 Line during the peak hour.
