February 2024 - Changes to the 'Dust Bowl'

To improve motorway safety and complete Stage 1 of the Spring Farm Parkway, we will be adjusting the informal rest area known as the ‘Dust Bowl’. The changes to the Dust Bowl mean that heavy and light vehicles will no longer be able to use the Dust Bowl as a rest stop and will need to use an alternate location.

Space will be retained for Oversize Overmass (OSOM) vehicles.

The adjustments to the Dust Bowl will be in place from Thursday 29 February 2024.

Heavy and light vehicle users can view the alternate rest stops map here or visit Rest areas map (NSW).

Implementation will be supported by temporary and permanent variable message signs and information boards installed in the Dust Bowl containing relevant contact details and information. For further information please read our Frequently Asked Questions (PDF, 83.92 KB) fact sheet.
