Yagoona Station Upgrade

Project Status

Yagoona Station Upgrade is complete and the station is now accessible, allowing for safer, easier and more convenient travel for all customers.

Customers are able to use the station’s new lift and improved accessibility features.

First hands-free lift on the Sydney train network

As part of the accessibility upgrade Yagoona now boasts the first hands-free lift on the Sydney trains network.

Customers need only to approach the lift to initiate a lift call. As a two-stop lift (platform and concourse), there is no need for a customer to activate the direction of the lift, with the lift moving automatically between the platform and concourse levels.

Sustainability

Local and sustainable materials, including steel and concrete, were sourced for the project, which resulted in a 22-tonne reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

Adding to our commitment for sustainability, 94% of construction waste was diverted from landfill since construction commenced. In addition, 30 trees were planted at Yagoona Public School in July 2022 to help improve biodiversity and shade cover in the area.
