South Region Projects

Reviewed

Project overview

Transport’s South region is a diverse area with various population densities and transport needs. Our boundaries stretch from the bustling metropolitan city of Wollongong in the east, to the remote red dirt of Balranald in the west, as far north as Hillston, down to the NSW-Victorian border communities to the south.

South region is committed to making regional NSW a better place to live, work and visit. The region is achieving significant progress on several major projects, including the Princes Highway upgrade, Picton Road upgrade, , Barton Highway upgrade, Mount Ousley interchange, Kings Highway upgrade, and Monaro Highway upgrade.

From upgrading Picton Road, linking Australia’s most populous city with the tourism mecca of the South Coast, to improving freight and community access in the tiny border twin-town of Barham-Koondrook, our projects are as diverse as we are, with the future needs of our communities our number one priority.
