Under the Transport Access Program, Transport for NSW has completed statewide accessibility upgrades and constructed new commuter car parks.

Transport for NSW (TAP) has completed accessibility upgrades and constructed new commuter car parks across the state, under the Transport Access Program.

Completed projects are listed below in alphabetical order by suburb/city/town.

Albion Park: Transport Interchange Upgrade

  • Redesigning and regrading of the ramp on the western side of the station to make it wheelchair compliant.
  • Pedestrian access to the western side bus stop on the Princes Highway.

Allawah: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Armidale Station Upgrade

Arncliffe Pedestrian Link

  • Improved pedestrian access to the long stay commuter car park located on the eastern side of Arncliffe Railway Station.

Arncliffe Station Upgrade

Ashfield: Commuter Car Park

Asquith: New Commuter Car Park, Footpath and Lighting

Auburn: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Austinmer Station Access Upgrade

Balmain East: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Banksia Station Upgrade

Bankstown Station Upgrade

Baulkham Hills: New Commuter Car Park and Transport Interchange Upgrade

Intersectional improvement

Blacktown Station Upgrade

  • A new footbridge connecting the Richmond Line concourse with the main concourse area.
  • New lifts and stairs connecting platform 3 with the new footbridge.

Byron Bay Interchange

Commuter Car Park

  • The multi-storey car park, constructed on Fornasier Lane, Canley Vale offers 122 commuter parking spaces.

  • Upgraded lighting and CCTV security cameras.
  • The commuter car park also features 59 timed parking spaces for shoppers.
  • Commuter parking is available 24 hours, 7 days per week.

Canley Vale Station Upgrade

Cardiff: Station Upgrade

  • New lifts with 3 stops linking Council’s Mary Street car park with the station car park and the pedestrian footbridge.
  • Refurbishment of the ramp and footpath access from the footbridge to Main Road.
  • A new main station building with accessible paths, weather protection enclosures and upgraded ticket office.

  • Extension of the platform to fit eight-car trains on the platform.

Caringbah: New Station Canopy

Emu Plains: New Commuter Car Park

  • Constructed on the northern side of Emu Plains Station with an entry from Lee Street.
  • 275 spaces and includes accessible parking spaces.

Engadine: New Commuter Car Park, Footpath and Lighting

  • A new commuter car park along the Princes Highway (southbound).
  • Upgrade of 2 accessible parking spaces within the existing car park near the station.
  • Refurbishment of stormwater  drainage, footpaths and fencing.

Epping: Transport Interchange Upgrade

  • Upgrading the footpath on the western side of Beecroft Road (north of Epping Hotel).
  • Renewing road, pavement, kerb and guttering.
  • New bench seat at the existing bus stop on the western side of Beecroft Road.

Fairfield: Transport Interchange Upgrade

Commenced February 2013

Key benefits

  • Reconfiguring the bus interchange into the commuter car park previously at the intersection of The Crescent and Court Road.
  • Designated 'Kiss and Ride' area for passenger pick up and drop off on the westbound lane of The Crescent.
  • Relocating the taxi rank to the eastbound lane at the western end of The Crescent.
  • Relocating the signalised pedestrian crossing and creating a new zebra pedestrian crossing on The Crescent.
  • Streetscape upgrades on The Crescent and throughout the bus interchange.

Multi-storey Commuter Car Park

  • The multi-storey commuter car park is located north-east of the station with entry off Roy Watts Road.
  • 700 commuter parking spaces including accessible parking.
  • Lift access to all levels.
  • CCTV security cameras and safety lighting.

The Glenfield Commuter Car Park was delivered as part of the South West Rail Link.

Seddon Park Commuter Car Park

Commenced May 2009

  • Update of the car park at Seddon Park with the entrance off Salisbury Avenue, Glenfield.
  • 117 new parking spaces for commuters using Glenfield Station.
  • Accessible parking and security lighting.

Gordon: New Commuter Car Parks and Interchange

Opened June 2015

Key benefits

  • The upgraded Werona Avenue Commuter Car Park provided over 130 commuter parking spaces.
  • On the western side of Gordon Station, off Henry Street, the new commuter car park and Interchange provides 214 commuter parking spaces, including 5 accessible parking spaces.
  • New bicycle storage facilities.
  • Motorcycle parking.

Gosford: New Commuter Car Parks

Goulburn Station Upgrade

Huntleys Point: Transport Interchange Upgrade

  • Relocation of 2 accessible parking spaces to provide a direct link to the new pathway and lift.
